Better Reasons Beat More Leads in Creator Outreach
We assumed creators needed more brands. They needed better reasons to reach out.

When we started building tools for UGC creators, the obvious answer to outreach looked simple: give creators more leads.
It turned out to be the wrong answer.
The obvious assumption
Creators say finding brands is hard. So the natural product is a large searchable database of brands with contact details.
Plenty of tools already do this. Very few creators we spoke to felt it changed their results.
More leads simply means more research
If you hand someone five thousand brands without telling them which ones are worth contacting, you have not removed work. You have created it.
The creator still has to check every brand, guess whether it has budget and decide what to say.
The shift that changed the product
So we built around the opposite question.
The new question
What is happening with this brand that gives me a reason to pitch?
Launches, active ads, creator activity and new campaigns all become outreach opportunities with context attached.
That became Brand Scout, which surfaces brands with live buying signals and explains why each one matters.
The broader lesson
The obvious solution to a problem is often not the useful part. Here, the useful part was not access to brands. It was context and timing.
For creators, the practical takeaway is the same: pitch fewer brands with stronger reasons. Our guide on choosing which brands to pitch covers the signals worth watching.
